They were acceded to with the Autonomy Law, which still wasn't enough to appease the Fijians, which declared independence shortly after. Maurice and Karl looted a few chests on Fiji for ceding it to the independent Fiji. Their relation became neutral.
Shortly before the [[Southern Union-Germania War]], tensions were rising in the South China Sea. The Japanese government pursued a south strike doctrine and targeted the Spanish Philippines. They got help from Fiji, due to the Spanish expulsion of them. As a result, on January 6 2022 Japan began justifying a war. For this great diplomatic success, angryfishstick1 was awarded the Order of Merit by Maurice and soothed the concerns of the Spanish government that they did not require a mobilization to remain safe in an ever escalating world, but rather could remain secure through their diplomacy.
