Volksraad
The Volksraad is the Lower House of Congress. It is similar to the real life United States House of Representatives[1]. It has double the seats as the Senate and its members are elected in single seat constituencies drawn by the Republics using first-past-the-post. All laws in order to pass have to be approved by a majority of voting members of the Volksraad. The Volksraad elects a Speaker, that administers the Volksraad and its sessions.
Senate
The Senate is the Upper House of Congress. It is similar to the real life United States Senate[2]. The Legislature of each Republic, most of the time the entire population of that Republic, appoints a Senator for the Senate. All laws in order to pass have to be approved by a majority of voting members of the Senate. The Vice-President administers the Volksraad and its sessions and confirms Secretaries and Supreme Justices.
