The January 2023 Community President election will be held on 4 January 2023 to elect the next Pixlies Community President. Sleep, who was elected previously in 2022, is seeking election.

Electoral system

It has been confirmed by the Pixlies staff team that the election will be conducted under the rules of instant-runoff voting.

Eligibility

Candidates for Community President must meet the following criteria:

  • Have a microphone.
  • Able to present their ideas in a debate.
  • Must have played the previous season (Pixlies X).
  • Must be a serious candidate.

In a shocking announcement, VPrototype announced in the staff announcements channel that staff cannot run for Community President.

Declared Candidates

  • Sleep, a notable Pixlies player who has been playing since 2021. He has previously served as Community President in 2021.
  • BlitzDontCare, a notable Pixlies player.
  • MattCobra, an active Pixlies player, who ran for Community President before.
  • ItzSam, random Luxembourger.

Ineligible to run

  • Skulli, the last Vice-Commuinity President. He is unable to run due to being a member of staff.
  • vyketype/proto, a Pixlies developer famous for causing political drama in multiple countries.

Debate

There was a televised debate between all eligible candidates on 2 January 2023, which was broadcast by the Pixlies Broadcasting Corporation.

vyketype/proto was the official debate moderator.
