Governor of California (Pre-Season).

TAMaurice, also simply known as Maurice, (* 06 Dec. 2005; Luxembourgian) is a well-known Player of Pixlies who has joined before Remastered. He is one of the most influencial players in that season and remained influencial through-out the following two seasons. He's famous for making his states Republics rather than the usual dictatorships and monarchies.

Maurice is a self-described social-democrat and advocate of human rights and freedoms. He's best friends with angryfishstick1, their friendship having expanded beyond Pixlies.

Maurice's first nation, the Republic of Oregon, first put him on the world-stage. In his time on Pixlies, he made a lot of nations: Oregon, Massachusetts-Philippines, Virginia, the United States, Prussia and Québec in Remastered, France in Pixlies V and Spain in Pixlies X.

Maurice is known for his resillience and cunningness in diplomacy. He uses his connections to keep his nations safe from outside threats (Fiji-Crisis) and assures domestic tranquility in California as its temporary dictator-governor.

Pixlies Remastered

Maurice played the entire season long. He was Oregonian, Filipino, Massachusettsian, Polish, Prusso-German, Québecois and Nevadan.

Chapter I: The beginnings and the Republic of Oregon [15 Dec. 2020 - 30 Dec. 2020]

Maurice joined Pixlies on December 15, 2020, exactly 3 days before the release of Pixlies Remastered. He founded the Republic of Oregon with the consent of its southern neighbor Nevada; this friendship was to prove especially long-lasting and close. Oregon on release day was then co-founded with Chomkii, who was looking for a new home after the spontaneous collapse of his previous nation. NeedlessMemeing and his and Maurice's friends like Ryder08 or MattCobra joined. Oregon, with its parliamentary democracy, proved unstable and suffered a civil war over government policy on December 30, which MattCobra and NeedlessMemeing won.

Chapter II: Republic of the Philippines and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts-Philippines [31 Dec. 2020 - 14 Jan. 2021]

Maurice and the supporters of the Social Democratic Party, who lost the Civil War, fled to the Philippines where they quickly fortified themselves due to threats of war from the Oregon Republic (not to be confused with the Mauricien Republic of Oregon). The Philippines grew rapidly and established a base in Boston. The government later moved its seat there. Diplomatic eclats caused by YoramYo's undiplomatic statements towards Europa would once again throw Massachusetts-Philippines into a war with them, which ended fatally.

Chapter III: Commonwealth of Virginia and the start of the US [15 Jan. 2021 - 1 Feb. 2021]

The remnants migrated to Virginia, Chomkii left to found his own nation in Indonesia. The Commonwealth of Virginia experienced a tremendous growth rate in its economy and could afford to send settlers to other states such as West Virginia, Kentucky, etc. to colonize them. This rapid expansion encompassed the entire United States east of the Mississippi River, which led to the proclamation of the United States in Richmond, VA. The capital was moved to Washington, DC.

Due to a liberal settlement policy and a believed pacification of Matt and the now defunct Oregon Republic, they settled in the states around the Great Lakes. A merger with Sleep Deprivisions Union-Démocratie brought even more resources to the states, which became the undisputed hegemon as opposition from Europe died out.

Chapter IV: US constitutional crisis and defeat [2 Feb. 2021 - 18 Feb. 2021]

The U.S., with its state tripartition, experienced its greatest and most serious constitutional crisis with an attempted impeachment coup of Sleep Deprivision which the Supreme Court ruled unconstitutional. As a result, an illegal second constitutional convention was convened. Maurice would not put up with this any longer and threw out Matt, sleep and their followers. The U.S. had to retreat to the 13 original states due to the reduction in people.

These thirteen united states were then to be completely torn apart by Matt with the help of the African Union, formerly led by U.S. ally South Africa, then couped by U.S. foe Niger. Maurice took a break of several days after a catastrophic defeat.

Chapter V: Poland-Lithuania and Duchy of Prussia [19 Feb. 2021 - 28 Feb. 2021]

Maurice then fled to Poland-Lithuania, a union of Lithuania, a U.S. ally from the beginning, as well as an inactive Poland, where he quickly rose through his administrative and diplomatic skills to become Prince of the Crown of Poland-Lithuania. He expanded the kingdom's borders to St. Petersburg, Kiev, the Crimea, the Carpathian Mountains, the Oder-Neisse line and the Baltic States, and then crowned himself Duke in Prussia, a vassal state of Poland of Lithuania with greater autonomy. Ryder08 was crowned Polish King by MegaVirusCreeper, the King of the Commonwealth and Grand-Duke of Lithuania on Maurice's suggestion, to facilitate the administration of the giant Empire.

Chapter VI: The rise of Prussia and the fall of the old Pixlies [End of February 2021]

As Prince-Regent of Poland-Lithuania and Duke of Prussia, Maurice sees his chance to take revenge on the African Kingdoms (formerly African Union) and founded the Historia Coalition, consisting of Poland-Lithuania, its dependent states, crown predenders and the victims of the ultimatum consisting of Historia from TomDaCarr and RJIsOasis. This coalition would later triumph and the African Kingdoms would be split up. Didas was crowned Emperor of Libya and South Africa was restored.

Chapter VII: The Kingdom in/of Prussia and its downfall [28 Feb. 2021 - 15 Mar. 2021 ]

The Duchy of Prussia grabbed more and more lands, and after a debate with MegaVirusCreeper, the Duchy declared itself the Kingdom in Prussia and independent. This independence was confirmed by a duel with MegaVirusCreeper, who also resigned in favor of Ryder08, who was then crowned King of Poland and the Commonwealth. Thus, Poland-Lithuania was effectively ruled by the same dynasty as Prussia, who now called themselves Kingdom of Prussia, having seized all lands of Prussia in 1910.

Those who had now fallen from power then conspired together to take final revenge and decimated Königsberg, the capital of Prussia. To protect his kingdom, Maurice ceded it to a friend and fled to Quebec. Prussia would later join Quebec.

Chapter VIII: The Province of Québec and total domination [15 Mar. 2021 - 15 Apr. 2021]

Co-founded by ExtractEntity, Québec grew at an unprecedented rate. Québec should, through superior industry, strategy and tactics, take revenge on sleep, which was at the root of the Königberg evil. In a series of three wars, sleep's nation would have been fully integrated into Quebec and its nuclear capabilities confiscated. Québec would dominate the season for the rest of its existance.

Chapter IX: The return to Oregon and the world war [16 Apr. 2021 - End]

After a series of inactivity problems, Maurice decided to disband Québec and cede it to Didas' Libya. He himself joined the United Counties, formerly Nevada, which always stood by him and took possession of Oregon after it was liberated. He accepted the duties of governor of Oregon and revived his first city, Portland.

Then in May the end of Vent was announced. A great final war, the allies around NATO, Maurice and his friends against Chomkii, remnants of sleeps nation and Maurice's old adversaries. Maurice was able to win this final battle through more clever manoeuvres, better logistics and impressive shock attacks.

Pixlies V

In Pixlies V, Maurice formed France, generally seen as a successful and strong nation until the blunder that was the Franco-Albanian War. After, he dissolved the Republic and declared the National Committee of Liberation, aka Free France and governed the rest of the season per decree as a military dictatorship.

Pixlies X

Maurice was the President of the Republic of Spain. He was a member of the Republican Left and only serving President.

During Pixlies X, Maurice decided to calm down and not be as involved in the politics anymore. He created Spain and was it's only President, having been elected unanimously and for a second time by a 70% majority.
