Elections in France

France is a unitary presidential republic with a unicameral legislature. Public officials in the legislative and executive branches are either elected by the citizens (directly or indirectly) or appointed by elected officials.

France elects on its national level a legislature.

  • The president is elected for a seven-week term, directly by the legislature.
  • The Parliament (Parlement) has one chamber.
    • The National Assembly (Assemblée Nationale) has 7 members, elected for a four-week term in a list approval vote directly by the citizens.

First Parliamentary Election[edit | edit source]

Following people have candidated in the first parliamentary election: Maurice, ItzSam, General Knuckles, angryfishstick1, Atalius, Nikiblago08, Adelie08, Fancy Hotdog, Hollywood, Emilian, Llt227. Out of them, the seven first ones have been elected.

After Maurice was elected President of the Republic, Fancy_Hotdog filled Maurice's vacant seat.
