The Southern Union was a nation in North America during Pixlies X. It was a federal state, consisting of 7 States: Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, Greater Texas, Virginia and the Caribbean, which each had a governor who represented their respective state in the Conference of Governors, the Union also had 3 unincorporated territories in Missouri, Maryland and Tennessee, a colony in Algeria, and two protectorates in India and Quebec.
Consisting of 32 people, it was one of the most populous nations in both North America and the world. The Capital city was Atlanta, which also served as it's principle financial center. The Southern Union was the first recorded nation of Season X to be founded on the principles of fascism, with absolute adherence to MattCobra, the defining principle of the nation and the foundation for which it was built upon.

The Southern Union was formed on the 14th of July, 2021, with it's leadership and roster of citizens being nearly identical to that of the previous season's Polynesia. Notably, many citizens deemed to be on the left of politics had their citizenship revoked and were kicked out of the Southern Union. This included leader of the Polynesian Communist Party, BananaMapping.
During the Southern Union's infancy, it had expressed a policy of neutrality in regards to European squabbles, as they were often pre release map conflicts or would harm their prospects of trade, as they believed that trade would play a larger role in the season's economy. Notably, they announced their intentions to colonise Liberia, however these plans never saw fruition. Despite their supposed neutrality in Europe, they found themselves in an alliance with San Marino, a nation owned by fellow dictator and long time friend of MattCobra, MickMMars.
The Southern Union also expressed a ruthlessness in regards to diplomacy. The Southern Union's foreign policy aims were to establish themselves as the American hegemon. They achieved these goals largely through coercive and covert actions. On the 12th of August, 2021 they negotiated the purchase of Northern Cuba and intended to use it as a military base and a potential launching point for further incursions into Cuba. On the 9th of October, 2021, political turmoil in the Caribbean had reached a boiling point. Their president, VykePrototype had contacted MattCobra, asking that he would not annex the Caribbean. However, when a Pro Southern Union secessionist movement lead by GeoDoesGames was formed, the Southern Union was quick to absorb them into the nation.
