The Germanic-Southern Union War was the third war of Pixlies X. The war was first justified by the Southern Union and in return the Germanic Empire justified on the Southern Union. The actual war was declared by the Southern Union. The first date, set by the Southern Union 28 December, was not upheld as the Southern Union leader MattCobra was sick with Covid-19. After that, the date was set internally in the Southern Union, without notifying the Germanic leadership set on 9 January. The Germanic Prime Minister and the Emperor knew about this date being set from spies, but according to him, he was not officially notified about it, so as a result, neither he nor Kjatz felt the need to join. This resulted on a final date being set on the 10th of July 21:00 CET.
Background
The war
The war was declared at 21:07 CET, and both sides started mobilizing players. By the end of the grace period, the man count was most likely tied, with approximately 25 to 30 players on the side of Germans against 28 players on the side of SU, who was joined by soldiers from Turul. Skulli's Germany chose to hold a chokepoint fort in a microclaim surrounded by Slovakian claims while MattCobra chose a thrust from Budapest to German Austria; the former of whose tactics, however, were proven to be superior[1], as the fort managed to block players from the SU from getting into German inland in large numbers. Although some successful incursions, mostly done by Alternis and friendly fire, were the cause of 8 Germanic casualties. Now held in a chokepoint near Turul-German border, MattCobra decided to try to rat out the Germans out of their tower by sniping them with AK-47s. This tactic proved to be somewhat successful, but only to a limited capacity as a major flaw in the war plugin caused the Germans to be unhittable from Slovak territory. During the SU's offensive on the tower, the Germans would also inflict a few casualties onto them. After some time, Czipsu used an ender pearl to get into close proximity of the Southerners and started to damage some SU players, managing to kill 3 of them, including MattCobra. When he was nearly dead, he used rags; one of the first of controversial things done by the German side. (Note: Rags were not banned, but bandages, their superior version, was causing this controversy. Alternis also used rags.) After MattCobra's death, sleep, now the highest ranked soldier, decided to retreat to Budapest to resupply and gather the scattered forces. By this point the war mostly became stagnant, as not many more died. This is because the Southerners and Turulians were now aware of a bug that made them unable to damage any Germans while shooting through Slovak territory. Skulli and Matt then negotiated to continue the war a week later, but Chomkii and Mick, unknowing of this, granted victory to the Southern Union. This was controversial[according to the reaction in the Discord server that lead to the overturn] because the Germanians had not broken the rules[1], but had gotten an unfair advantage. Ultimately, since the Germanians had officially not broken the rules and because of much uproar, it would lead to the overturn of the decision of Southern Union's victory. It is disputed whether it was the right decision to grant the Southern Union victory, some believed it was unjustified, some believed it was admin bias, others believed it was the right decision.
Afterwards
Following his victory, Matt, joined by Skulli and Mick, negotiated the peace treaty. When he was finally finished, the peace treaty terms were:
1) Transferring leadership of Germania to Grinnypig
2) Austria east of Tyrol is annexed into the Turul Empire
Effects of the Peace
The effects of said peace treaty were felt right away, as MattCobra called for a speech in one of the Germanic towns. In the speech Matt appointed the new government (dubbed collaborationist). Many Germans became angered at this and left for Judea, where Skulli and ItzSamHD continued the current government as the Germanic Republic in exile in Judea. The Southern Union had then announced that it would assist the mostly unrecognized new satellite state in Germania, yet this is doubted by members of the Germanic Republic in exile.
Conclusion
Pixlies had yet again entered a stage of supposed peace. But now, the status quo had changed, as Germania is now a fascist but unstable state. The Southern Union had been mostly unscathed and the only big change seems to be going on the war plugin, which was proven to need fixing.
"Europe is now under a fascist jackboot. What remains to be seen, is, if the boot will continue to kick, or if it will fall down from it's owner's feet."
However, Germania would not stay as a fascist unstable country for long, as the decision would be overturned and the former government of Germania was restored. The impacts of the war and decision, however, made its mark on Germania as many citizens had fled and left the country, and the country was missing members in the government who had either left or turned against the country. The exodus of quite a few of Germanians could be illustrated by how the Siberian compartment of Germania voted to secede from a fascist Germania but failed when shortly after the vote started a democratic Germania was restored.
Update
With the victory mostly overturned, Germania is now a democratic nation once again. It is not yet known whether Germania and the Southern Union will go to war again.
