The 21 January 2023 Alaskan Elections was held on the 21st of January 2023 from 10 AM to 10 PM Eastern Time Zone(EST). The two elections, the First Presidential Election of Alaska and the Constitutional Committee Member Election, were included on a single ballot. The elections were in response to the then recently Governmental Election of the Alaskan Republic, held 7 days before. In these elections, Alaskans had voted on who their President would be, which was a race between Liberal-Republican Party candidate Ace and Libertarian Party candidate Skulli, and had also voted on who would be on their Constitutional Committee to create the constitution, which was a race with three candidates being CandyThief321, laud, and Skulli. The election was revealed a day after the previous election along with the timeline: from the 15th to the 17th at 10 PM people could apply for candidacy, on the 18th at 6 PM EST candidates would be revealed[1], on the 20th there would be a Presidential debate which ended up taking place shortly after 5 PM EST, and on the 21st the election would be held for a full twelve hours.

Constitutional Committee Member Election[edit | edit source]

The question asked to rank all Constitutional Committee candidates from one to three, one being most favorite and three being least. All three candidates would be elected. However, for the race to become the Constitutional Committee Head a candidate must have received the highest rank. laud was knocked out immediately and CandyThief321 would beat out Skulli to become the committee head, in a landslide, 5-2.

Evaluation and Voter Turnout[edit | edit source]

After the polls had closed, Ace had created a document presenting the official results of the election[2]. In this document, he gave that the voter turnout of the election was 87.5%, a 16.07% increase from last election, with 7 ballots. This means at the time there was 8 eligible voters and out of them 7 had voted. Also, Ace along with ItzSam had looked for any election fraud and both confirmed by signing at the end of the document that the election was fair. However, the official results were not out until the next day which caused anxiety among the Alaskan people as they were waiting for the results. This was because Ace had to switch the person who would confirm the election because his original choice did not do it, leading him to wait another foreign or reputable person the next day to confirm the election was fair.
