The California Republic, informally referred to as California, is a planned nation in the upcoming season of Pixlies. It claims Upper California, Nevada, and small parts of Arizona and Utah.
Politics
Government
Executive
Executive power is vested in the President of the California Republic, elected by citizens with ranked-choice voting. The President runs with and/or appoints a Vice President to serve the term with them.[1]
The current President of California is Skulli of the Whig Party, while the Vice President is angryfishstick1 of the Socialist Party.
Legislative
California has a bicameral legislature, officially titled the "Congress." The upper house, the Senate, consists of one senator per state, currently three, elected at least once every four weeks by a method chosen by that state. The lower house, the House of Representatives, is composed of two representatives per state plus one, which currently adds up to seven. Representatives are elected nationwide with single-transferrable vote. Most bills are proposed and passed by senators and representatives with a majority vote before they are sent to the President.[1]
Subdivisions
The first-level administrative divisions of California are known as "states" and "territories." There are currently three states, Northern California, Nevada, and Cortés, and one territory, Elko.

California was founded by Maurice in EarthScape, a geopolitical towny server which lasted only for a short time before it was shut down by staff.

Pre-Season Pixlies
The decision to move California Republic to Pixlies was made shortly after EarthScape shut down. Presidential elections were scheduled on 20 November 2023, but have not been held due to inactivity.
